A show of cluelessness: Since the default setting of Canadian Jews is left/Liberal, many Jews are casting about for something, anything, to justify their not voting for Stephen Harper. This despite the fact that Harper, with nothing to gain and plenty to lose, has stood up for Israel and the Jewish people and told the eliminationists planning the UN’s Durban II Conference (another zany fiesta of Zionhass) that Canada is declining their invitation to attend. Here, for example, is one subtly anti-Harper e-mail that's making the rounds (h/t M.K.):

Just a reminder (and you may have heard this at synagogue these past few days) that we have the opportunity to let the government know how the Jewish community feels about an election set for the first day of  Sukkot. Regardless of your personal practice on Sukkot, regardless of  who gets your vote in the federal election, please vote, and please  consider using he advance polls on October 3 or October 6 to send a  message that despite different political stripes, the Jewish  community stands as one when it comes to issues of religious  recognition and fairness.

Please pass this message on and help strengthen the voice of the Jewish community in Canada...

And how,  pray tell, do you suggest we “send a message”—by not voting for the guy who was brave enough to defy the world, and who remains steadfast in his support of Israel’s right exist and defend itself? Yeah, that would send a message alright—a message that Jews haven’t a clue who their real friends are and what’s in their own best interest. Frankly, silly lady, at a time when a religious maniac is getting set to launch an A-bomb to snuff out the Jewish state, the stuff you’re on a tear about concerns me—and should concern you—not at all.
